September Wrap Up!

James on a Harley at work

This is me, coming home from a ride. I couldn't find my sunglasses before I left. I looked everywhere.  I even asked my girlfriend if she could see them?  Guess what? I rode the whole way with them hanging on my chest. Good grief!
I think our age might be showing with our glasses issue....
Alex as his introductory Karate class. He decided that since he wasn't an instant Jackie Chan, that karate was not for him.
Free donuts at Crispy Cream if you dress like a pirate?
Luckily, I have lot's of pirate swag.....
Me in the mirror. It was a good hair day. Not a good face day. Just a good hair day.

Wicked Witch Cycling Relay

My sister and I rode in our first ride last Saturday.
This is us before the ride.....
You can't see it but we have fabulous REAL frog purses (imported from the Philippines) and of course our stripped witchy legs:
We weren't planning on buying the $69 jersey's but they matched our legs so great, we had too!
We weren't the only one's that dressed up:
I am pleased as poisonous punch to announce we made ALL SEVENTY MILES!
It took me 5 and a half hours. My sister finished about 20 minutes faster but we were not the slowest by far!
We lucked out and were invited to roommate with my friend and Lift instructor from 24 hour Fitness - Kari. She saved us! She gave us Whoo-ha Cream - yes that's right, lent me her extra pair of arm warmers, lubed my bike chain and checked my air pressure.
We had so much fun talking and talking until late the night before.

The minute I made it over the finish line I took off my shoes - my toes were numb and so painful. Kammy ditched her frog purse after the first leg and her tights after the finish line.
 Our numbers
You can't see it but I burned more than 3600 calories on this ride!

The last 20 miles were pretty tough but the worst was the three mile hill climb about 1/2 way through. Oh. My. Heck.
I had to walk about 25% of it for fear of falling over with my shoes pegged into my pedals. (I've done that before thank you very much!)
We had a lot of fun and we're already signed up for next year!
At least we won't have to buy the jersey's again!
