Austin wanted a very expensive long board for his birthday. So expensive that he had to help go in on it! But he was so very excited and is paying me back for his portion on an installment plan.
James was gone on his actual birthday so we planned to celebrate when he got home but Austin has decided that he wants to get "cut" and is on a very strict diet of lean protein and complex carbs and birthday cake doesn't fall into either category. So, out of respect and support I didn't make him a birthday cake. (We do plan to take him to lunch this Friday on his "free day" to celebrate.)
Austin has grown so much this year and not just up. (Although he has grown a lot in that way too!) He's mischievous and often times inappropriate but he's also honest and tells us about most of his holiganistic activities and I'd much rather he be himself and inappropriate around us than to hid it and be a different person with his friends or at school. Austin is what he is. Funny, fun loving, and good. Deep down good. Even if he does like to live on the edge and is now sporting a long board everywhere he goes!
Love you Austin. No matter how much bigger you are than me, you will always be my little boy!
