Alex had a hard time this year coming up with anything he wanted for his birthday. He couldn't even tell me what he wanted for his birthday dinner! I finally just served tomato juice and tomatoes and cucumbers (his favorites) along with chicken and rice.
He got home from scout camp with James around 3 pm on his birthday and I made him wait until after dinner to open his presents. This was torture for him. He probably asked me ten times if he could open presents yet.
Finally the time arrived......
Since he only came up with shoes, a belt and some pens for school I consulted with James and he suggested boxing gloves. (We've always had boxing gloves but they've been recently lost/borrowed/never to be seen again apparently and Alex LOVES to box with James and Austin. He won't box with me or his sisters - even though we're willing - he's too afraid of hurting us. Which truth be told? He packs a wallop!)
So of course they had to try them out......
Then I tried to get a picture of the two of them but they couldn't stop punching each other for me to get a good one......
That night we went to see "The Dark Knight Rises" to celebrate.
I had sent a cake with James to scout camp on Wednesday with the hopes they'd have it in the morning ON his birthday but it sounds like they had it much sooner than that and that the 5 hour ride on the motorcycle wasn't advantageous to the condition of the cake?
