The day after graduation, Austin broke his nose.
Or I should say, a girl broke his nose with her knee goofing around.
We were suppose to be in Alaska but had come home from the airport to sleep and go back for our flight the next day. Austin was leaving for Lake Powell the next day.
We knew they'd only x-ray him and tell him to come back when the swelling went down so we all went on our trips.
When he got back I took him to and ENT who confirmed it was broken but was heading out of town for two weeks so he referred us to his colleague who took one look up Austin's nose and confirmed not only was it broken but his septum's very deviated. (Which probably explains why he snores like a grizzly bear.)
Because we had our trip to Puerto Plata scheduled - he had to wait until July 9th to get his nose fixed.
Tomorrow we go for his follow up and hopefully "to get these sticks out of my nose"!

1 of my blog friends said something...:
I also broke my nose (in seminary we were acting out the iron rod story and I was a tempter and 'Nephi' accidentally elbowed my face. huge bummer) and had a deviated septum and had to have surgery for it as a teenager and oh my heck! I feel bad for Austin. It was such a miserable recovery!! I totally know what he means about those sticks up his nose. Wait until you see them! Things have probably improved/changed but I do remember being completely shocked that so much stuff had been stuffed in my nose! Anyhow, hope he's feeling much better!!
