Devree requested her OWN artichoke for her birthday dinner (which ended up being a lunch because she went on her first official date at dinner time!) She also asked for Curry Chicken:
We had plans after lunch to go to the DMV and get her license but her completion slip was no where to be found. I called the school only to learn that she would have to wait two weeks until the teachers were back to school. She was pretty bummed but didn't cry. (I think I would have cried) But it was probably because she had a date to look forward to?
We opened presents that afternoon:
She wanted Alex to wear this crazy pajama shirt, so he did for her birthday. Just for this picture though. Sometimes I think my children are crazy.....
This is Devree waiting for her date. (And she really was this excited!)
This is her date, Tyler Luciero.
Little did she know that a surprise party was in the works and although Tyler asked her out on his own accord, with the help of Veronica (her EFY and drill team friend) we had him in cahoots to get her back for her party:
She arrives just after eight pm:
With her Dad in his "birth" shirt:
(Oh, I don't like this picture of me but it's the only one I have.)
About 25 kids showed up to begin with but they just kept coming (and going) through the night:
During the party I received and email from her drivers ed teacher that he'd print her up a new competition slip - I had emailed him earlier - so it was a birthday miracle!
I took video of her getting sung to so this is a posed picture of her with her cake:
This was my favorite part of the decorating. Kambree and Rylee did it and even though they made my pictures crooked, I thought it was pretty dang cute!

1 of my blog friends said something...:
actually it was my idea to put the streamers around her face. Rylee and I did it. Give credit where credit is due.
