Alexy comes....TOMORROW!
I should be doing lots of last minute things like grocery shopping, cleaning, working on my paper work but I'm not. I'm just waiting.
I did try to make Rylee's pink princess room look a little more boyish by switching out the purple sheets for yellow and the pink bedspread for a blue snowflake one. We put a little white bear with a blue bow on the pillow and Ry decorated a sign we had translated into Ukrainian that says "Welcome Home Alexy! You Sleep Here."
I've spent some time translating English information into Ukrainian words. Like who we are, where James is, where Alexy will sleep etc. I have no idea if my sentences translate correctly but they sure are pretty, swirly letters.
We also stored Rylee's stuff in her nightstand and filled the drawers with his new underwear, undershirts, socks, pajamas and a shirt and pants for Sunday. We'll do more shopping on Monday when I can be more sure as to what size he is. I bought size 10's. My children were always about a size or two bigger than their actual age but I'm told these kids are usually on the small side. HOWEVER, we tend to attract bigness. Our dog Ella has a 2 1/2 pound father and a six pound mother and she is ELEVEN pounds! So I have a hard time comprehending small. (Austin was in 120th percentile at 2 months and is now towering over me at age 14....and I'm not small either!)
Tomorrow Alexy leaves Kiev (which is about 2 hours from his orphanage) and flies to the JKF airport (over 10 hours of flight) and then has a 5 and 1/2 hour layover there, then to SLC (another 5 and 1/2 hour flight) So he will have been traveling about 23+ hours. I've read on blogs that have these children are wide awake and play all night long when they get here. I can't imagine with all the traveling that he could possibly be wide awake but apparently we're on such different time zones that it's like morning for them when they arrive. But it will be almost midnight here.
This is just like the 9th month of pregnancy. Time is going so slow!! And jumping on the trampoline or taking brisk walks isn't going to get him here any faster! I really need to find something to distract me....
