Giddy with Excitement!

Okay...I just can't hold still. Typing is even hard!
I've been feeling so guilty about being so happy when other parents are struggling with delays and awful and evil directors. A good friend of mine told me yesterday to just think of these other situations as "bad labor" stories and enjoy and rejoice in your own. So, that's what I'm going to do! (Please note my friends with issues, that does not mean you are not in my thoughts and prayers!)
So today I have a bazillion things to do! I've been weighing my bags and I had no idea how fast a bag can weigh 50 pounds! I think I've got everything sorted out now. Of course there's many things I cannot pack until I get ready Tuesday morning but for the most part, I'm packed.
(Don't worry if you haven't dropped off your package for you child yet, I still have four pounds left in one bag for you to fill!)
James got home a couple of hours ago, so I'm frantically doing laundry. We need to run to the bank, return library books, get James Rx filled, buy Q-tips (what an odd thing to run out of), I need to fill all my fact boxes, get Austin a B-day cake, and I won't bore you with the all the other minute details of my day.
Just got off the phone with my sweet friend Karen wishing me well. It's a good thing I'm surrounded by so many positive and uplifting people. Last night (yet again) a well meaning person told me horror stories of adoptions gone bad, not knowing I was heading out to adopt myself but did he stop his story once my Mom interrupted him to tell him I was adopting from the very same country that he's talking about? No, he continues on. Like I needed that! (Not to mention his own home grown children have had their share of troubles! But I was nice, I didn't bring that up!) If I were surrounded by people like that in my family or circle of friends, this would be very hard. But, I'm not-and thank heavens!
Thank you everyone for your well wishes, for following our blog, for dropping by with cards, books, DVD's, gifts for Alex, and offering to help with kids and dinners. My eyes are tearing up just thinking of the kindness that has been extended to us. We are so very blessed.
I promise to blog, every step of the way. I promise to be very nice and on my best behavior with the director at the orphanage to pave the way for those following me. And I promise to deliver hugs and packages and love to your children. If I can video and take pictures I'll do that too.
Tonight, we're going to have cake and celebrate Austin's upcoming 15th birthday as we'll be away for it. I'll post pictures later!
Well, I'm off! Happy Monday to you one and all!
Love,
Venda The Tough Ukraine Mama!

Yes, you enjoy this beautiful time and try not to let others discourage you. Praise God you have people around you that are there to encourage you. I wish we could cross paths in Ukraine, but I believe you will be back before I get there. My facilitator is hopeful for a mid April appointment. That is making me VERY nervous, but I am so happy and excited at the same time. I can't wait until you can give your sweet son a big hug and let him know his Mama is there and bringing him home. Wow, what a sight!

Good luck Wendy and James, I know that all will be okay and that your beautiful boy will be here before we know it. Enjoy the journey, because you will want to look back and remeber the blessing it has been. My love and prayers are with you both.

This is "your"story. Don't worry about anyone else's stories. I know it's hard, but your doing the right thing. It's just part of the journey. Positive and happy, is the name of this adventure. No worries, there are a lot of people praying for you, and the others. Heavenly Father want's these kids here, even if you have to go though hell to get them. That's okay. We are "MOMS", and that's what we do!
