Monkey House

The other day Alex came home with a little plastic monkey. He had folded a little box out of paper and informed me that this was his new little brother, Jacob.

He then told me he was going to make Jacob a house.

The next day Rylee went to a friends house and came home with a shoe box that she had made into a house for an identical monkey. (Apparently one of Alex's friends are selling these little plastic monkeys? I'm not sure. My children have lives of their own that I have no control or say over.) Alex upon seeing Rylee's HOUSE got all excited and-with a little guidance from me as to where he could find a box-started on his house.

I had rented a movie but he was too inthralled building his house to come watch.

HIS house has working lights and a fan.

Then he and Rylee decided to join forces and make a double decker house.

The spent hours working on it.

Seriously.

I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.

Ry & X decided to sleep in the same room last night as they both wanted to be near their fabulous house.

X slept in a sleeping bag on Ry's floor.

Too funny.

This morning the girls and I went to rehearsals and the boys went babysitting for my sister. I knew they'd be done before us so I called to check in.

Austin was asleep and Alex was working on installing a light for Rylee's part of the house.

From what I've been able to figure out, the colored light on the bottom floor is from some sort of bouncy ball that had a light mechanism inside, the fan is from a small crappy helicopter toy of Brach's that broke and he gave to Alex, and the top light is just a small light bulb run by a battery.

Pretty impressive huh?
