Coloring Easter Eggs Saturday Night
Yes, we did Ukrainian Easter Eggs. No, Alex had no idea how to even color an egg. James learned how to do Ukraine eggs from his sister. It takes lot's of time, wax and patience. The kids started coloring at six, James joined in around eight and at 10:30 I shut the egg party down! Here's a few of the beauties!
Sunday morning we did a quick egg hunt, had our traditional "eggs all a golden rod" breakfast and then watched conference and played conference bingo.
My family came over between sessions and we had a big plastic candy filled Easter egg hunt with all the cousins. (It snowed that morning but luckily the snow had melted by noon! Ahhh! the joy of Utah spring weather!) Then we had a nice lunch and watched the 2nd session together.
Alex and I celebrated Easter last year in Ukraine. I had brought plastic eggs and filled them with candy and hid them around our scary/smelly apartment. He had never had an egg hunt before and he had never colored Easter eggs until this year. This morning he asked me what we're going to be doing for Earth Day and Good Friday? (Probably assuming there is some outrageous amount of candy, festivity or food for every holiday pre-printed on the calendar?)
Here's what we were doing last year today:

3 of my blog friends said something...:
The Eggs turned out awesome.
What a fun Easter you had? Can I be in your family? We actually got to go to one session of live conference. Alex wore headphones to hear a Russian translation. Those eggs turned out great. See you tomorrow at lunch. I need a griping, venting session.
Holy cow! Our eggs most definitely did not look like those :)
