My son.....Tom?

Alex asked me why I didn't give him the middle name of Thomas Edison the other day.
What?
Apparently Thomas Edison is Alex's current favorite inventor-he just learned he invented the light bulb and now he's the coolest inventor ever in Alex's book!
I really couldn't think of an answer but I reminded him that I wrote to him about the name Alex Benjamin-in fact I wanted him to be Benjamin Alex-and he agreed.
No I didn't he told me.
I being the thorough blogger that I am was quickly able to retrieve the scanned and translated letter he wrote in January before his adoption and show him what he wrote.

Hum....that makes sense.
So, you never agreed to your middle name?
No-I want to be Alex Thomas Edison.
(Just for the record we also talked to him on the phone and he agreed to his name. And I'm pretty sure we went over it again IN Ukraine but he's so enamored with T. Edison that he's conveniently forgetting all that!)
Then he asked if I could just start calling him Thomas Edison as a nick name?
Good grief-that's quite a nick name!
