Easter Cake

My friend Ritva brought over a Easter Cake or Pashka as Alex calls it. Ritva is so sweet and is always thinking of Alex. She's from Finland so I think she knows what it's like to miss her native country. I'm not sure where she got it but Alex was so very excited. He reminded me over and over that they eat these on Easter and they are so yummy. (I was in Ukraine during Easter and I know all about Easter cakes but regardless, Alex needed to tell me about it again a few times!) Well, they're yummy to Alex-the rest of us had one bite and put it back. (Very dry and yeasty tasting-just like the one's I had last year in Ukraine!) Alex said they're suppose to be dry-like a cracker-and with that he poured himself a glass of milk to get his piece and the remains of ours down!

Here's where we were last year:

4 of my blog friends said something...:

I was going to ask you more about the Easter cakes, but as I continued reading, I thought, "Never mind. They sound awful." At least Alex enjoyed himself!

Did she make them or buy them? It would be fun to do something like that this Sunday.

Duh...you said you did not know where she got them....nevermind that last post. :)

Yummy, I can't wait to try them! I'm sure I'll be exposed this weekend. I had to laugh about Alex saying that they just needed to learn more English. It's good that he is comfortable and happy with where he is in life. That is important.
