This is Alex talking to his half brother, Ivan in Ukraine yesterday. He hadn't spoke to Ivan & Snezhanna since January. He could understand them but he said they talked too fast. However, he couldn't find Ukraine words to respond at all so he just spoke in English and Snezhana had to translate. There were many things they did not understand. The one thing we did understand is that Alex is going to be an UNCLE!! Snezhanna is due in September. Alex informed me that I will be a babushka too but I'm not so sure about that.....
He didn't seem to upset that he couldn't communicate with his brother. He's under the impression that THEY just need to learn more English.

How old are his siblings? I think its great they can stay in contact even if they cant understand eachother! Amazing how quickly he has learned English! What a smart guy!
This is too funny how Alex react to all of this, children are very funny ... You are such a delight mother, and Alex is lucky to have you.....

Just Another: Alex's half brother is 26 or 27. He has no other siblings. He joined the military when Alex was three and apparently that's when his little life fell apart. Ivan would visit Alex occasionally when he was in the orphanage but seemed to visit a lot more once he found out he was getting adopted. I attribute Alex's loving and kind nature to having this brother in his life. Alex only speaks kindly of him. Him and his father-who died when he was four-his mother is another story!
